Er det noen på forumet her som er bosatt i Usa? Har en slekning som er død å trenger dokumenter.

I live in Fargo, North Dakota.  What sort of document do you need from where?

My fathers cousin died and i am trying to get the paper from his estate. But i have made contact with the court in Idaho on e-mail. Thank you for your replay 😊

Depending on more information from you, some records are available online.  The minimum you'd need to know is which county will the estate be handled in.  Then there is a book called The Handybook for Genealogists --United States.  The Handybook contains a brief outline about the major record types and dates they begin for each county within each state.  There are over 3,000 counties in US, so having that piece is important.

He died 2020 and his estate case is not finished yet. So i am trying to get access to the files but its 217 pages an the cost is high…. 222$

 

But if you can find i site or something so i can to the case…

Sorry, but I'm probably not going to be able to help with this.  The case is too new.  What exactly are you hoping to find from it?  Names of survivors? Or if you are going to inherit?  Since it's not yet settled the most complete list of survivors won't be available until the end anyway.  Maybe he had a will? 

 

If your purpose was to find the names of survivors they might be able to copy just that part of the papers instead of the whole file.  If he had a will, maybe they could copy just that document instead of the whole file. 

 

Copy cost of most courts is between $1-$2 / page so the price you've been quoted is within usual  limits.

 

Names of survivors could also be found in an obituary published in the newspaper or in a funeral home's records.
