Making Sure I have the right parents

I just want to know, if I’m climbing up the right family tree. On my great- grandmother Gudbjør Olson Strand (Olson her maiden name). It says her birth year is 1881 but in her North Dakota gravestone it says 1880. Her father was Ole Gudbrandsen 1854 but in this 1891 Norwegian record it says his birth year was 1858. I would love to find some photos of my Norwegian ancestors. Are these the right parents Jahan Kristoffersen & Berte Pedersdtr for my 2nd great - grandfather Ole Gudbrandsen. Can anyone point me in the right direction, I would appreciate any kind help I can get. My GED MATCH kit number is

Age differences are common, so this may very well be your Gudbjør Olsen and her parents Ole Gulbrandsen and Anne Johansdatter - and (at least some of) Gudbjør's siblings. IF you are sure your great grandmother was born in (or aound) Gran.

 

But I can't find the baptism of this Gudbjør in Gran.

The only one who might have used the name Gudbjør Olsen (as a frozen patronym) was 

born and baptised at home 19. march 1883(!) - and her parents are Gudbrand Olsen and Siri Johannesdatter - could this be the Gudbjør you're looking for?

The only other Gubjør I can find in this time frame at this place is not an Olsen:

(her parents is Peder Steffensen and Anne Marie Andersdatter...)

 

And wether I'm right or wrong - there are living two seperate families on the farm you've found in the cencus - so "Jahan" Kristoffersen and Berte Pedersdatter is certainly not this Gudbjør's grandparents!

 

But what do you actually KNOW about Gudbjør and her birthplace and her parents?

I support Tom’s standpoint that before one can say anything about Gudbjør’s  origin, the facts that point towards Gran, Norway, have to be documented.

 

That said, assuming that Gudbjør in the 1891 census is the correct Gudbjør, her baptism can be found in Brandbu, Gran, #10, with birth date 3 January 1881

The marriage record claims that Ole was born 4 May 1855, son of Gudbrand Olsen, and Anne Johannesdatter was born 14 May 1857, daughter of Johs. Eriksen
