Richard Olsen Skrevet Februar 22, 2024 Del Skrevet Februar 22, 2024 Laura It probably was not Cedar in Norway. Perhaps Sater or Sæther. His name in Norway would not be Charles Andrew. Perhaps Carl Anders (or Andreas). The surname was probably a farm name. In Norway, Charles Andrew might have been known as another last name, such as Adolfsen (if his father was Adolf) Laura Wallis reagerte på dette 1 Lenke til kommentar Del på andre sider

Anton Hagelee Skrevet Februar 23, 2024 Del Skrevet Februar 23, 2024 (endret) For what its worth, there are a few Family Trees on Ancestry.com that connect to a Adolph Cedarwall born in Sweden. There are not many sources that are given in these trees for that name but I will post a few here. Could be a wild goose chase but we do not have much to go on that I can find in the Norwegian sources. And so far no way to connect the Cederwall family from Sweden to the Charles Andrew Cedar in England. The trees make a line from Adolf Bernhard Cederwall 1816–1858 BIRTH 25 AUG 1816 • Vårdinge, (B) Sweden DEATH 6 MAJ 1858 • Hedvig Eleonora Stockholm https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/174744643/person/212265074401/facts?_phsrc=Bvb3&_phstart=successSource Would be nice if someone could find out what his occupation was? https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:V7V3-V8V Endret Februar 23, 2024 av Anton Hagelee Laura Wallis reagerte på dette 1 Lenke til kommentar Del på andre sider

Grethe Flood Skrevet Februar 23, 2024 Del Skrevet Februar 23, 2024 As far as I can see, Charles Andrew married in 1879. Is there any information on the groom's father in a marriage certificate? Stine H Kvistad Skrevet Februar 24, 2024 Del Skrevet Februar 24, 2024 My guess is his lastname (Carl Andreas or Ole Andreas)? starts with Söder, and is of swedish decent. Born 14 Jan 1843 or 1844. Both years are on his english shiprecords. I am having some trouble pasting the picture of page 2. It lists the ships he has worked on. He was permanently in England from 1869.
