Baptism and Birth Record - Evelyn Gabrielsen and Hilde Austad

Hello and Good morning,

 

I am trying to find the digital record of my birth, November 28, 1966 in Oslo, Norway.  I was baptized in Sauland Kryke by my grandfather, Aasulv Austad, sokneprest.  My parents, Knut & Aase Austad immigrated to Portland, Oregon USA in March of 1967.

 

I am also trying to find the digital record of my aunt's birth, Evelyn Renee Gabrielsen.  She was born in Oslo on Feb 24, 1935, and baptized at Stavanger Domkirke on June 29, 1935.  

 

I have a copy of both baptism certificates, but I don't know how to search the records.  Is there a video to teach me?

From 1930 the baptism and birth records are not available online because they might contend sensible information.

 

For a birth certificate we recommend to first try to obtain it from Folkeregisteret. If they are not able to help you, you can get an attested transcript of the clerical birth records.

For a baptism certificate you have to find out there the original church book is kept. If you just want to see the records, you are helped with the copy of the church book.

 

For both the baptism you have mentioned, you can obtain a copy of the record from Arkivverket by ordering here:

If you need a baptism certificate, you will have to get it from the Church which still keeps the originals churchbook in both cases.
