Access to redacted record material

To Whom It May Concern:

 

My great aunt, Borgny Marie Mathiesen, was born in Holmestrand on 19 Dec 1908. In my research of the family I  found out she died at sea, in May 1930, on a trip from New York back to Norway. The following record is in your archive, but two columns are covered, it appears for privacy reasons.  I would like to know what if anything I can do to see the information that has been redacted, so I can find out her cause of death. Please let me know.  Thank you for your assistance with this matter.

For this particular archive, i.e. Statistics Norway, Socio-demographic topics, Population, The National Archives of Norway has not given priority to separate between documents that can be open for access, and documents that can't.

Dear Kristian,

 

Thank you so much for this information.  It means a lot to me to have it.  If I read this correctly, it appears Borgny died from TB. My grandmother, Borgny's older sister, didn't talk much about her mother or sister, both of whom died at very young ages; she was very close to both of them.  I had heard mention of TB, but wasn't sure which one of them had died from it.  Now I know.
