Haagen Johannessen Førdestrømmen født 7. juli 1851 og broren Johannes Johannessen Førdestrømmen født 25. april 1854

utvandret fra Bergen 29. april 1876 (nr 226 og 227)

https://www.digitalarkivet.no/em20110223700038

Jeg har ikke funnet dem igjen i USA. Jeg vet at de hadde en søster som utvandret i 1874 - Cecilie Johannesdtr. Hatleberg, gift med Lars Toresen Hatleberg fra Lærdal.

Cecilie født 16. april 1843, død 28. april 1928 i Winger twp, Polk Co., Minnesota.

You mentioned that Cecelia had only one child who survived to have descendants.  I'm not sure that is correct.  There is a Johanna L Hatleberg who marries an Ole C Morbin in Polk county, Minnesota.  Ole went on to marry another two times.  But here is the entry from MOMS:

POLK E/368 11/07/1892 MORBIN, OLE C HATLEBERG, JOHANNA L

Here is Ole's obit published in the Thief River Falls (Minnesota) Times Thursday 24 Oct 1950 page 7 (?) col 1 found at Old Fulton History website:

image.png.ac762160db7b94197d9ddc7501cd8e83.png

This image is of Ole and Johanna's family in the 1895 Minnesota state census of Winger, Polk county, Minn.:

image.png.1322ea27fa08751bd05c2eefa8e05d25.png

Note that the 2 children's names Clara Louis Morben age 2 and Carl Oskar Morben age 1 correspond with two of the listed survivors in Ole's obit: Oscar of Roseau (Minnesota) and Mrs. Clara Lillemoen of Gustine, California.

Oscar was known by a couple of different last names: Norlin, Norben, and Morben, but his birthdate and birth place are very similar or the same:  12 March 1894 at Winger, Minnesota:

"Minnesota, World War I Records, 1918-1941", , FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q556-X23Z : Sat Mar 09 03:44:16 UTC 2024), Entry for Oscar Norben and Ole C Morben.

"United States World War II Draft Registration Cards, 1942", , FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QKCC-Z881 : Fri Feb 23 22:00:56 UTC 2024), Entry for Oscar Norlin and Oscar Norlin, 27 Apr 1942.

As mentioned Ole C Morben was married an additional two times, again from MOMS

POLK G/517 02/03/1898 MORBEN, OLE C OLSON, MARTHA
POLK W/349 05/29/1925 MORBEN, OLE C HOGESTAD, EDITH

Ole had a number of children with his second wife and when she died in 1917 in Pennington county, Minnesota, Ole handled her estate.  This legal notice was published in the St. Hilaire (Minnesota) Spectator (pub date not noted, nor page, column 3):

image.thumb.png.7d6badd182756ff3794fd77b22ae4179.png

Neither Clara nor Oscar are mentioned as Martha's survivors.  Technically, they are not her children and don't have any reason to be a part of the estate settlement, since they are adult and "not of the blood" so to speak.

Oscar was apparently placed with a Norlin family and here they are in 1905 Minnesota state census of Winger Polk county, with Oscar carrying his original surname as a middle name:

image.thumb.png.377803dd884957fce7e725aae8c1dc95.png

In the 1910 census, Oscar is listed as Andrew and Ingri's foster son:

"United States Census, 1910", , FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M2PQ-XL3 : Thu Mar 07 09:40:04 UTC 2024), Entry for Andrew Norlien and Imfri Norlien, 1910.

Oscar Norlin also served in WWI:

"United States, Veterans Administration Master Index, 1917-1940", , FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:7BN3-632M : Thu Mar 07 20:33:24 UTC 2024), Entry for Oscar Norlien, 31 March 1919.

Oscar married as Norlin in Polk county, here from MOMS:

POLK T/589 06/21/1921 NORLIN, OSCAR

SNUSTAD, NETTIE ISABELLE

In the 1930 census Oscar and Nettie had had at least two sons:

"United States Census, 1930", , FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X384-17Z : Sat Mar 09 08:59:18 UTC 2024), Entry for Oscar C Norlin and Nettie I Norlin, 1930.

Here is Oscar's FAG memorial.  You will want to click through all of entries there.  Oscar and Nettie had a total of 3 sons:

Takk igjen, Jackie , bare jeg som ikke sjekket nøye nok her, du har helt rett! Jeg har bare notert at Johanna døde før 1900, altså ganske ung. Men hun var i live i 1895 da.

Jeg mener at det her står Haakon, og alderen 28 år stemmer, og alder på Johannes/Johnson er 25 år, det stemmer også! Stor takk Anton for dette, da er de funnet i 1880 i alle fall, samme sted som søsteren Cecilie og hennes familiie!
