Georg Heinrich Ulrich Wedich Wasmuth (ca. 1724-1800) was a German-born surgeon and moustache cutter who worked in Trøndelag for most of his professional life. He carried out the first known smallpox vaccinations in Norway. This happened during a smallpox epidemic in 1755, when he was city surgeon in Trondheim. He also performed cataract operations and is said to have used electricity as a remedy[2].

Education and career An anatomical theater (Leiden, 1610) In 1736, the Theatrum Anatomico-Chirurgicum was founded in Copenhagen. It was an anatomical theater that was part of a royal educational project. The aim was to provide broader and better healthcare for the population and the military.[3] Wasmuth passed the “Chirurgisk Examen” at the Theatrum Anatomico-Trondheim in 1748.

Welcome to the forum!
I thought it might be of interest to  to convey some of what can be found in the actual sources (digitally) . Foreigners may have issues using the Net library.

One G. U. Wasmuth, trader in Trondheim, announced March 31 1772 in the newspaper that for a period his wife would be running the business  for him. He  would prefer people whom he owed money to contact her no later by the end of May. https://www.nb.no/items/2144db4f54e06bd32a797cbc460b5bcb?page=1&searchText="Wasmuth"

In January 1773 one Wasmuth annonced that until he left for his estate in Nordland in 4 months, he would be receiving people who sought help against poor eye sight at his home in town. He would be treating poor people for free. https://www.nb.no/items/7455b482eed635ccd7674bdc78557e39?page=3&searchText="Wasmuth"

On the 3rd of April 1773 Georg Ulrich Wasmuth stepped down as the field surgeon of the 3rd Trondheim's National Regiment

Information about his death on July 8th 1800 can be found in the newspapers. His son wrote a short notice which was printed in Trondhjemske Tidender Spetember 19th 1800. https://www.nb.no/items/2acd0f5171669b80de598f05b4033ebf?page=1&searchText="Wasmuth"
He informs the readers that his father had suffered from various ills and weaknesses for several years, eventually succumbing to death due to his weak feet.
(I don't  know if that means he had infections due to poor blood flow, or if he fell and hurt himself.) He retained the ability to speek until a few minutes before his death.

Burial of the 76 y old Georg Hänric Ulric Widich Wasmuth on the 15th of July, buried inside the church (an honor) https://www.digitalarkivet.no/kb20070607610212

"Nordlandske handelssteder; virke, hverdag, reiseliv, fest":

Apparently HUWW bought the grounds at Skibotten, a marketplace, which had previously been an 'allmenning', that is anyone could use it. There was a court case when he wanted rent for the market stalls. The court deceided that he did not have the right to a rent for the previously built market stalls, but that he could demand rent for any news stalls built. He had a market stall of his own there.  https://www.nb.no/items/df17bdea966e791dbce1a894c2dd0277?page=119&searchText="Ulrich Wasmuth"

He also bought the 'handelsted' (legal place to trade outside towns) Karnes. This source also says that GUWW lived at Lyngsgodset. https://www.nb.no/items/df17bdea966e791dbce1a894c2dd0277?page=333&searchText="Ulrich Wasmuth"

By the way, we'd appreciate if you followed the custom here and used your full name in your profile 🙂 I'm not sure how clear the English version of the forum rules are on this matter - many locals miss the requirements, because they are not stated where a lot of people expect to find them.
