My six times great Grandfather William Wood married his wife Mary in Sogn of Fjordaine, Notset circa 1709

I would like to find out who Mary was could she have been Norwegian and anything about their wedding.

William came from Yorkshire in the UK.

It would have been easier to know what information that you wish to get on William Wood and his wife if the title had not been your own name. 

 

However, do you have more information on William Wood and Mary? Did they settle in UK and had children there or did they have children in Sogn og Fjordane? Do you have a little more information on Willam's and Mary's descendants? How do you descend from William and Mary?

 

Notset - is that a farm name? Is that the farm Mary came from? Is Notset an English spelling of the name? 

 

Have taken a DNA test that links you to Norway?

A modern spelling of the farm name seems to be Nødset. 

 

There is also a farm Notsæter in Stedje parish, Sogndal municipality:
