Finding Record for Finn Eivindsen (1711) - Lindelien, Fla, Buskerud, Norway

Good evening,

I'm researching historical records and came across a reference to Finn Eivindsen in the 1711 land tax (Skoskatt) for Lindelien farm in Fla, Buskerud, Norway. He's listed as a servant along with Helgje Halvorsdtr. and was working for Tore, a farmer and former soldier. Does anyone know where I can find this land tax record?

Best,

Simon

Thank you so much, it's the earliest record of my 7th great-grandfather and I have not been able to find anything earlier than that. I wonder what his age might have been and whether he was born in the area or traveled there with Tore from a different country. I did not find any baptismal record in Fla/Nes from 1693 to 1711.

Finn Eivindsen is mentioned in the first volume of Gards– og slektshistorie for Flå i Hallingdal.
Access is restricted to Norwegian IP addresses, but I’ve taken two screenshots of the most relevant pages.

The shoe tax of 1711 on Lindelien farm is mentioned on page 616: “Tore is listed as the farmer here, he was a soldier and has a wife and two servants: Finn Eivindsen and Hælgæ[sic] Halvorsdatter.”
On page 614 there is mentioned a murder case on Lindelien farm in 1703: Reier Toresen, a soldier like his father, was called to court 9 November 1703 to answer for the death of Anders Erichsen Finde after a fight. “Finde” likely refers to a “Forest Finn”. Several witnesses from the court are called in, but Finn Eivindsen and Helga Halvorsdatter are not among them.

Your ancestor, Finn Eivindsen, is mentioned on page 640 and 641 on Finneplassen (“Finn’s place”), a farm he is credited with giving his name to along with Finnevollen (“Finn’s meadow-hill”). No birth year is given for Finn, though his age should be listed in the 1701 census, and potential relatives, siblings and cousins, etc., might be listed in the probate as guardians for his widow and children.

Yes, I was able to read both the Flå and Krødsherad farm books, but they did not yield too much new information; I have never seen a 1701 Census for Flå and Krødsherad, does one exist? I have the following information between 1711 and 1738 for Finn, do you see any further leads?

Finn probably died before 1738 in either Flå or Krødsherad, as his widow Inger Andersdatter remarried that year to Ole Johansen; but I did not find an entry in Flå (Nes) or Krødsherad (Sigdal) church books between 1734 and 1738.

Remarriage of Inger Andersdatter 24 Aug 1738 in Krødsherad (Right Page, Third Column, Bottom of the Page):

Here is an overview over the census (male register) 1701 - censuses from several parts of Norway are lacking - including Buskerud county:

Thank you! Looks like I may have found most of the evidence as it seems there are necessary records missing
