Occupation in birth record

Hoping for a transcription, and meaning, of the father's occupation in the baptism record for "Liv", entry no Br. 79 (second line).  The father's name is Svend Thorsen, though I'd appreciate a better transcription than mine of his last name, as it could be Thorsen or Thovsen.  Thanks in advance.

"Bruksmann" can also mean a person using/renting another person's farm

Thank you both.  Farmer makes more sense as the father is listed as a hussman (cotter farmer) in other records, and some pages I've seen have multiple entries with that word, which would be more likely for cotters than saw mill owners.  Based on your transcriptions I did some internet searching, though the only thing that came up was from  Google AI.  It says: "Brugemand is a Danish term that roughly translates to "man of the farm" or "farmer".  It also say: "Brugsmand" refers to a person who worked or used a piece of land, often as a tenant farmer or day laborer". However, it doesn't say where it got that information and I didn't find any actual sources for that information.  I'm ok with AI if it actually provides its sources;  in this case it didn't.  I imagine "bruksmann" and "brugsmand" are alternate spellings in an era where spelling was a bit loose.  Thanks again for your help.
