Attempting to make a connection for Kari Pers/Pedersdatter

Good evening,

I am trying to make a connection between Kari Pedersdatter baptized 19 Jan 1755 to Peder Findsen and Kirsti Rasmusdatter, but no farm was listed: https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/8541/42077/126. I would like to get your thoughts on whether you think this is a match? Unfortunately, I cannot read any Nes Farmbooks.

Peder was born with the name Peder, but also referred to as Peer in his Confirmation, Engagement, Marriage, and First Child's Baptism. Therefore Kari may also refer to herself as Pedersdatter or Persdatter.

In 1766, Peder and Kiersti were listed on Lie for the baptism of their son Peder #149 https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/3049/20. However, Peder died by 1773 on Nordre Lie.

https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/267/pg00000007227362. Kjersti was from Storeli, while Peder was from Flå.

I found a possible confirmation for Kari, what are your thoughts?

I also found the following Family: Aslak/Aslach Knudsen and Kari Persdatter/Pedersdatter, what are your thoughts?

Disregard Kari Pedersdatter Olsgaard.

Essentially back to square one... The only other confirmation record that I have is one for Flå.

Right Side #78 - https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/3049/196

78 Kari Persdatter Trostem . . . 22 aar - Does Trostem here refer to Trøstheim?

Anyone a clue where this Kari ended up?

Yes Trostem is Trostheim.  But what I find at #78 on the linked page is this:

I'll take a look in the Flå books this afternoon if you can wait and if no other hopes in with a look.

Thank you! I think I got access to the Flå books, so I'll also take a look again, I know you also provided me with lots of help in https://forum.arkivverket.no/topic/331443-ser-etter-ytterligere-informasjon-for-familien-til-min-6-oldeonkel-peder-finsen-lindelie-1725-fra-fl%C3%A5-buskerud-norge/

I am also pretty much ruling out the following Kari Per/Pedersdatters in Hemsedal and Nes:

  • Kari Pedersdatter Nes - Onsgaard/Tollefsgaard (born probably bef. 29 Apr 1734) m. Ole Tronsen (Children: Tron 1762, Peder 1767, Birgit 1770, Ole 1774, Barbro 1777, Helge 1780)
  • Kari Pedersdatter Hemsedal - Aalrust/Ulsager/Skaalt (born probably bef. 1 Feb 1749) m. Embret Nielsen (Children: Niels 1778, Thora 1780, Barbro 1782, Peder 1786, Tollev 1789, Margit 1792)
  • Kari Pedersdatter Hemsedal - Aalrust/Jolem (born probably bef. 1 Feb 1752) m. Jon Iversen (Children: Iver 1771, Christi 1772, Barbro 1774, Iver 1777, Rangdi 1779, Per 1781, Peder 1783, Ole 1789, Hendrich 1792)
  • Kari Pedersdatter Nes - Olsgaard (born probably bef. 25 Jan 1756) to Peder Olsgaard and Margit Henricsdatter

You should also be interested in these families #226 & 227 for completeness' sake:

The family you mentioned here, also above, is the family that I am currently looking into. I am rebuilding their family tree downward in hopes to hopefully make a DNA match, to see if this family with a Kari Pedersdatter is the same that I am looking for.

Sorry no real luck.  Peter Finsen family's Kari is not carried forward in the Nes bygdebok.  The family & list of children are found in Nes I, page 575 on a farm called Espelund.  Only one of the children is even mentioned as confirmed and that is Ambjorg Persdtr in 1781 as on Toen. No spouses, nor any additional detail in the list at all.  The only child with a mentioned death date is the youngest Per born 1766 died 1773.

So the children are: Rasmus b 1753, Kari b 1755, Inge b 1756, Margit b 1758, Liv b 1761, Ambjorg b 1763, Per b 1766 d. 1773 as resident of Nordrelieie.  Per Finnsen is listed with a death year of about 1766.

The text also mentioned that Per Finnsen was written up for leiermal in Krodsherad in 1751, before he was confirmed.  The widow Kristi / kjersti Rasmusdtr was living with her sister and brother-in-law on a place called ånplassen in 1801 census and was betlere.

Yeah... what I did notice in the church books is a lot of people dying without names being identified. I just find it hard to believe that everyone were swallowed by earth. We did find Inge Persdatter's confirmation, so there is at least one additional record. While Rasmus, Kari, Margit, and Liv may all also have died at a young age, I am just blown away that we can't find more on Inge or Ambiør...
