Trying to find information on Mathias Christianson b.1848 d.1928

Hello everyone,
I am trying to find information on my 2nd grandfather. 
Mathias Christianson. He was born in 1848 in Norway (possibly) and came to Minnesota (Yellow Medicine County), where he married Anna Christensdatter Gjerde (she was born in Gjerde Hjørundfjorden, Møre og Romsdal in 1852). Mathias died in 1928 in Minnesota. I have searched everywhere I can think of, and I haven't been able to locate any information on him at all.

There is a book "Mot nye heimland : utvandringa frå Hjørundfjord, Vartdal og Ørsta" by Ragnar Standal (1985)

about emigration and emigrants from Hjørundfjord.

According to p.461, Anna Kristensd. Gjerde, b. 1852, emigrated - seemingly without any company - to Minnesota.

Came to Echo, married Mathias Christianson from Kristiania [Oslo]. He was a carpenter and they had a small farm.

Children Karen, Annie and Johanne. Anna d. 1930, Mathias d. 1928.

(No specific sources given; the information probably from relatives.)

According to Censuses 1900 and 1910 I find that Mathias' immigration year is said to be 1882 or 1883. (In 1900 his birth is said to be Feb 1851)

 

I find a candidate who emigrated from Oslo 19 April 1883, age 34, ship Heimdal, destination Montevideo. This Mathias lived in Spydeberg.

I notice that the Geni.com lists his birth as 30 October 1848. And Allan Frantzen posts that Mathias and Anna were married in Lac due Parle County.

Hi,
Thanks to all for the help. Yes, Mathias was married in Minnesota, and from what I've heard, he was possibly born in Rakkestad.  I haven't been able to locate any additional information about him or his family before or after he arrived in Minnesota, beyond the basic records. His parents' names are possibly:
Father - Christian Eriksen
Mother - Olea Larsdr
They are very vague, with no place names.
I've also heard that he could have been a carpenter. I would like to find more information on his family; that could help paint a better picture.
