Anton Nikolai Andersen f. 02.11.1914 i Alta.

Begravelsesbyrået bør oppføres i nekrologen.

To trace the record of Anton Anderson's body transfer from Broward County, Florida, to Oslo, Norway, in 1995, you will need to look into several specific administrative and genealogical sources. Because international transport of remains involves both legal permits and airline/shipping logistics, several "paper trails" are typically created.

1. The Death Certificate and Burial Transit Permit

Since the death occurred in Broward County, the primary legal record is held by the Florida Department of Health.

  • Death Certificate: The Florida death certificate will name the funeral home that handled the initial arrangements. This funeral home is the entity that would have coordinated the "repatriation" of remains to Norway.

  • Burial-Transit Permit: In 1995, Florida law required a permit to move a body across state or national lines. This permit is often filed with the local registrar in the county of death. You can contact the Broward County Vital Statistics Office to ask if they have the specific burial-transit permit or "Disposition of Human Remains" form on file for that year.

2. Consular and State Department Records

Because the remains were sent to a foreign country, the Norwegian Consulate and the U.S. Department of State would likely have been involved.

  • Consular Involvement: To enter Norway, the body would have required a "Consular Mortuary Certificate" or a "Laissez-passer for a Corpse," issued by the Norwegian Consulate (likely the one serving Florida at the time, such as Miami or New York). These documents certify that the body was prepared according to international health regulations.

  • U.S. Passport Records: If Anton was a U.S. citizen, the Department of State may have a record of the death reported to them, even if the death happened domestically, if it involved international transfer. However, if he was a Norwegian citizen, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs would be the more likely record-holder.

3. Norwegian Burial and Church Records

In Norway, burial records are exceptionally well-maintained.

  • Oslo Gravplassetaten (Cemetery Authority): You can contact the Oslo agency in charge of cemeteries (Gravplassetaten i Oslo) to find the exact grave location. Their records often note where the body was received from (e.g., "Ankommet fra USA" or the name of the shipping agent).

  • Digitalarkivet (The Digital Archive): Norway's national archive system may eventually list 1995 records, though more recent records may be restricted due to privacy laws. You can search for his name in the Digitalarkivet to see if a "Death and Burial" entry exists in the local parish register (Kirkebok) for the area of Oslo where he is buried.

4. Funeral Home Records

The most detailed information—including the flight number, the date of transit, and the receiving funeral home in Oslo—will be in the private files of the funeral director in Broward County.

  • If you can identify the funeral home from the death certificate or a local obituary, you can request a copy of their "ship-out" records. Many funeral homes retain these files for decades.
