Er det noen som kan fortelle meg hvor og hvordan man søker etter slektninger i England? Jeg er nybegynner når det gjelder slektsforskning!!

Can you be a bit more specific? Do you mean England or Great Britain and what period of time?The information for Scotland is kept separate from that for England and Wales, as is that for Northern Ireland.

Searching for your ancestors in Great Britain is one of doing it by personal visit or pay somebody to do it, as very little is digitized compared to Norway. The information on births, marriages and deaths from July 1st, 1837 for England and Wales are stored on microfiche in the Family Records Centre in London, similar records from 1855 for Scotland are stored in Edinburgh, and from 1864 for Norther Ireland in Belfast. In addition you may find the censuses held every 10 years from 1841, the latest available being 1891 (100 year-rule) and some old parish records, pre 1837/1855/1864. Details and addresses on their web-sites.Of digitised material is the INDEX of the information for the Old Parish Records (1553-1854), and official registry data from 1855-1899 and possibly both 1881 and 1891 censuses for SCOTLAND. This is a searchable (for a fee) database (Scots Origin), but will only list a person's name, date of event (birth/marriage or death) and a reference number. If you are certain that the right person has been found you may, over the web, purchase a copy of the original information (fee £10 per copy) which of cause will give full information. Alternatively you could use these reference numbers to check the information yourself against the microfiche copies on a visit to Edinburgh to see that you got the right person(s).In addition the 1881 census and the Vital records (births, marriages and deaths) for 1851 for the British Isle have been digitised and are available on CDs from The Church of Latter-day Saints at reasonable prices (1881 census 25 CD at less than £30 total a year ago).The Society of Genealogist will conduct searches for you at reasonable prices. Er det mulig å finne ut noe om en person som døde i Birmingham, England i 1990? Personen som jeg leter etter ble født rundt 1906-1910 i Norge, men ble ikke døpt eller konfirmert, så derfor 'finner' jeg han ikke. Men jeg vet at han seilte under krigen, kom ikke tilbake, men giftet seg og bosatte seg i England. Han har flere barn og barnebarn. Siden dette er så nært i tid, er det mulig å finne han i noen register?
