[#5175] Svend & Thea Berthine Fjogstad - Stavanger 1900

My great grandfather Svend Fjogstad (1860) is listed in the 1900 Census as being from Klep Sta. His wife Thea Berthine(1861)is listed as being from Stavanger.I have looked in the 1865 census with the following results:I have found a Thea Bore*(1861) in the 1865 census that seems to be a possibility.I have found a Svend Olsen (1859-60) in Klep. But the farm name is Tjøtte not Fjøgstad. I cannot find a match under the Fjøgstad farm.I am hoping someone can help with marriage records, etc. I have a feeling that they were married in Stavanger. I know that my grandmother Maren Margrete Fjøgstad(their daughter)said they lived in Schankehølen which is now part of Stavanger.Arne Mikal Mikkelsen

Svend (Olsen) Fjogstad and Thea Bertine (Olsdatter) Hodne were married 7. May 1885 in St. Petri parish, Stavanger. Their third? child Maren Margrete was born 28. August 1891 and baptised in Dom parish, Stavanger.Svend was born 16. February 1860 in Frue parish, Hetland (Bispeladegård, now Stavanger). His parents were shoemaker Ole Abrahamsen from Fjogstad farm, Klepp and Hansine Svendsdatter from Tu farm, Klepp. In the 1865 census Svend's father is wrongly written "Abraham Ols." Look at 1126 Hetland, no. 2396.Thea Bertine was born 30. January 1861 in Frue parish, Hetland. (probably on Østebøe farm, Hundvåg, now Stavanger) Her father was shipowner and farmer Ole T. Hodne, probably from Hodne farm, Rennesøy. In the 1865 census he was a widower. Look at 1126 Hetland, no. 690.Hope this info helps you a little further in your research. Gunleif.
