I need help in finding information on Ole Andreas Nordlie b.1851 in Nordre Land Christians AMT. Can anyone tell me his parents, etc.? I do not understand Norwegian and cannot figure out how to proceed. I was told that alot of people took the farm name as a last name, and I cannot find his parents etc. anywhere? Can anyone help? Also, how do I find the coat of arms for the name Nordlie? Thank you for helping

Ole is in the 1900 census, Baerums, svartodden farm, i don't understand the birthplace reference either, a farm book lookup may help...perhaps someone will explain a birth place entry of N. Land Krs. ...post another msg asking for a farm book lookup ...put the farm and area in the title... Roger.

N. Land Krs. means Nordre Land parsih, Kristians (or Christians) amt. Today this is Oppland fylke.
