[#7276] Iversen, Vinje Bø i Vesteraalen - looking for rese

Gjest Jorunn Lindzen

Peder Wessel Hansteen Iversen Vinje was born in Bø i Vesteraalen in 1865 and as you can see took the Vinje farm name. He had several brothers and sisters, Magdalene, Cecelie, Johan Kristian, Mathias and Nikoline. I have quite a bit of information on these people an who they married, their children and so on. What I am looking for are people interested in research in this area. Peder became an orkestermusikker and moved to Oslo where he married and had children among whom was my Grandmother, Jørun Vinje. I have not seen any indication that any other of the Iversen family (father Iver Rasmussen) moved to the Oslo area or that any of them took the Vinje name.Best regards, Jorunn

Hilsen, Jorunn

Pollen and Vinje, Bø i Vesterålen are two different main farms in Bø. The distance between the two farms is abt. 10-12 km. along the road.I guess you found Mikael Mortensen and/or his daughter Margrete Mikaelsdatter m. to Johan Petter Hemmingsen, and their son Hans Johansen. Hans was m. to Johanna Margrete Kristensdatter, a sister of one of my ancestors, Mads Andreas Kristensen.

Peders sister, Magdalena m. Peder Martinus Andreassen and one of their sons, Anton Bernhard Marelius emigr. to USA (Seattle area) and took the family name Engeness. As we have a common ancestor, and I have no info. in my database abt. descendants of Peder Vinje and his danish wife Otelie, I would be very pleased if you would help me with these info. My e-mail address is: paal.martin@c2i.net

Thankyou Pål and it is very nice to meet another relative.I will be very pleased to send you as much information as I have. I hope I will be able to send it within one week. Othilie, by the way, was not Danish. She was born in Drammen and I think someone has interpreted a shorten form to stand for Denmark. She was born Karin Othilie Aass (of the Aass Bryggeri family) and went by the pet name of Otte.I wonder if you are also related to Jens Frydenlund whose daughter I have become very good friends with over the past year.I will try to discover more about the Engeness family (I wonder why they chose that name. Is there a farm of that name in Bø i Vesteraalen. How large is Pollen farm? Jens Frydenlunds GGGGranfather lived there in 1801 and I believe they must have known each other quite well.Jorunn

Here is more information on the connection between Frydenlunds and myself In 1801, my GGGG Grandfather, Kristen Mikkelsen lived on Polden, Vinje farm. He was 35 years old at this time. In the same place lived Ivar Pedersen, aged 40. This is Jens Frydenlund's GGG Grandfather. Jorunn
