[#8501] Pinderud/Pinderød bygdebok

Is anyone able to tell me if there are bygdebok available for the 45 farms named Pinderud in the 1865 census? All are in Vang in Hedemark. Until now the only reference found for Pindrød was in Østfold. I look for any information about these farms, especially maps or church records. Thanks for all help. Hello. You can find information about Pinderud in the Furnes bygdebok. You will find it on the pages 279-286 in this book. If you tell me which persons you look for I can look it up for you. Perhaps I find them if we are lucky. Good luck. Pål

Pål, I look for Oliver Pinderud who would have been 22 or 23 years old in the 1865 census. His given name may have been changed when he came to U.S. He didn't marry until 1868 but then married to a Caroline who also came from Norway. Our 1900 census states they both came to America in 1880 so I assume they were married in Norway. I don't know his patronymic name. Caroline had 9 children, 5 living in 1900. Our census lists 3,Lillian, George and Pearl, all born in New York. The other 2 I assume were older and possibly born in Norway. I hope to prove one of these 2 was named Olga, born 1868. From this I can continue research. Thanks for your help. Lois
