Gjest Richard Hellesen Skrevet Juli 12, 2002 Del Skrevet Juli 12, 2002 Good day: this is bit of a shot in the dark, so my apologies if this is at all off-topic. I had an ancestor who worked in the match industry in Norway in the 19th century--specifically at the C.Z. Amnei Taendstikfabrik in Røros (c. 1857-1860) and the Ihlens Fyrstikfabrik in Trondheim (c. 1861). Does anyone have any further information on the operation of either of these companies, either from bygdebøker or from another source? I'd be grateful for any suggestions or information. Thanks in advance-- RH Lenke til kommentar Del på andre sider

Gjest Richard Hellesen Skrevet Juli 13, 2002 Del Skrevet Juli 13, 2002 Thanks for your reply. Actually, I've been through the search engines--there's a very helpful page with a translation of a paper on the Norwegian match industry by Olav Wettig--but haven't found anything specific on these two businesses other than the dates of their operation. The search continues! Thanks--RH Lenke til kommentar Del på andre sider
