Takk for svar Rune. Er enig i at muligheten for at jeg har riktige foreldre er rimelig stor. Det er 48 slektstrær for Paul på Ancestry, og mange bruker 24 september 1858 som fødselsdato. Men ingen har dokumentert hvor de finner informasjonen. Noen nevner også foreldre, men har ikke funnet at noen nevner Jens Olai. Kona til Paul er søster til min oldemor, slik at dette er noe av slekta mi i Sør Dakota. Bilde under er gravsteinen hans i Garretson SD Jeg får ta meg en tur på Nasjonalarkivet og se på skifteprotokollene for Fana. Muligens det står mer der.

Nei, det er det med å tro og å vite. Men hvor mange Poul/Paul Jensen ble født på Hordnes i 1858/59 og dro til USA i 1883? Tror sjansen for at det var mer enn en er temmelig lik null. Har du funnet noen dødsmelding etter foreldrene som evt kan gi deg svar? Takk for svar Rune. Jeg har gjort flere forsøk, med mange års mellomrom, på å avdekke hvem som var foreldrene. Finner bare Jens og Brita som kandidater. Men så var det å være helt sikker da... Jens Olai, en annen sønn av Jens og Brita emigrerte i 1888, men for hans del står det i bygdeboka at han reiste. Jeg har ikke klart å finne noen sammenkobling mellom Paul og den mulige broren Jens Olai i Amerika.

Hei Roald. Jeg kan nok ikke verken bekrefte eller avkrefte om du ha funnet rett mann. Bygdeboken for Fana gir ingen andre svar enn at den bekrefter at Jens og Brita hadde bl.a en sønn Poul, men det står ingenting der om hvor det ble av ham eller søsknene hans. Men all den tid han er skrevet som Poul Jensen Hornæs tror jeg nok det er samme mann.

12/5-1883 reiste den 24 årige Poul Jensen Hornæs fra Fana til Amerika. Han er # 1476 her https://www.digitalarkivet.no/em20110223700275 I Amerika blei han gift med Ingeborg som er # 1477 i samme utreiselisten. Historien deres i Amerika er kjent og jeg har navn på 15 av barna. Ingeborgs historie er kjent, da hun er søster til min oldemor. I Amerika brukte han navnet Paul Johnson. Utfra hva jeg har funnet om ham i Amerika var han født i september 1858, men jeg mangler datoen og hvem foreldrene var. Ved utreise står det at han budde på Askøy. Det jeg lurer på er hvem som er foreldrene hans? Nanna Benedicte Gjersøe, f. Fagelund er koblet med far, mor og sju søsken. Hvis jeg går inn på hennes søskens personsider, er Nanna oppført med to foreldrepar. Det første paret er korrekt, det andre paret er feil ved at hennes far er oppført som både far og mor. Jeg har ikke klart å løse dette ved feilhåndtering og finner heller ingen feilaktige lenkinger som kunne medført en slik feil.

Oppsettet ditt for Dishington linjene på Ardross stemmer veldig godt overens med mitt eget oppsett fra den eldste biten, men der har du 1 William Dishington, der jeg har 2. Det er godt mulig det er du som har rett. Legger ved det jeg har notert på disse 2 eldste ledd. Og legger ved våpenskjoldet som ble benyttet av disse eldre Dishington familiene, denne er å se i taket på kirken i St. Monans. Wll D ca1280 eterk.RTF
