  1. Bente Borgen
    Johan Tobias Taraldsen Gramstad f. i Stavanger 18.03.1834 seilte i flere å på sjøen i utenriksfart. 12 april 1870 seilte han ut fra Stavanger med briggen VIDAR . Så ble han ble innlagt på Lasarettet i New York 29.12.1870. Der ble ha liggende når VIDAR seilte videre.Den 13.03.1871 forlot han Lasarettet. Jordbruger Tarald Svendsen Gramstad (hans far) betalte refusjon til 05.04.1871. Det kan altså se ut som om han blir på sykehuset fra 29.12.1870 - 05.04.1871. Jeg undres på om det er noen som vet om det er mulig å finne ut noe om overfarten til briggen VIDAR ? Kanskje han kan ha blitt skadet på noen måte? Hvis ikke det var en skade han ble innlagt for, hvilken sykdom var vanlig blant sjømenn dengang og hvilket sykehus kan ha blitt innført i norske kilder som lasarettet ? Kanskje noen har noen tanker her ? mvh Bente Borgen
