Hi! Did your great grandfather emigrate to Australia? Or, his children? Do you have more names and years? Laila

I have since this morning found his naturalization papers in Australia. It seems that he may have been born in Horten on 15/1/1868 and maybe later moved to Bergan before coming to Australia. He was a seaman and arrived in Adelaide South Australia before 1896. He married in Adelaide on 1896.

He was known as Henry Thompson in South Australia. His marriage shows his fathers name only as Henry on the 1st marriage and Christof on the second marriage. The naturalization certificate shows he was Carl Ludvig Knutsen. The farm Bergan may have been in Horton.
