Treschow is a person (last name), it looks to be a family name in the Larvik area i Vestfold. I saw one Fredrik Wilhelm Treschow on 'Laurvigs Grevskab'. It looks to be a noble/rich family...Jan

Jan Hans f 1778 and Jacob f 1796. Her oldest but one son would have been Jan Hans. Is this right? - Jacob is 21 years younger than Engebret

Hi Jeff! My grandchildren are descendents of Lars Jacobsen Nordkvelde Mellem (1730-1784). Is this the same family as 'your' Maren Jacobsdatter? (I have not done much research on this family).Mh Arnstein Rønning

Hi Arnstein. The families are related by marriage. My Maren Jacobsd was the daughter of Jacob Hansen at Nordvkelde Mellem Br nr 6/7. She married Ole Engebretsen and the children were1. Engebret 2. Jan Hans f 1778 3. Jacob 4 Marte 5 Gunhild f 1789 6 Helvig ?1816.Jacob (3) became bruker of Nordkvelde Meelem Br nr 5/9 1830-1884. He married Mari Jacobsd from Moen u/ Rimstad. She lived 1805-1882.Mari Jacobsd was the daughter of Jacob Larsen who was born at Nordkvelde Mellem Br nr 1 in 1772 and was a husmann at Moen u/Rimstad. Jacob was the 4th child of Lars Jacobsen and Maren Olsdatter.Lars was from Kveldsvik u/Vestby. Maren Olsdatter was a widow when he married her. She died aged 80 in 1807I would be interested in how your family fits in. Best Wishes Jeff Erickson

see [8] I have found an entry in the church records (Family search christening records - source kirkebok batch c423501) which show Jacob Olsen, son of Ole Ingelbrechen christened 1784. This would seem more likely than 1796. The bygdebok Br. nr 5 shows 1796. Which is correct?

Now I have looked more closely at the other topics that you have started here, and there are a lot of other farms 'in common' too, such as: Eftang Mellem, Stålåker, Østby, Gjone Store, Vestby, Holm, Refsholt, Hem, Klåstad, Håkestad and Bårnes.By the way, I have borrowed bygdebok for Tjølling, so if there is anything you want me to look up now during Christmas time, just ask.

Arnstein, Thank you for your offer. It seems that i may share some common ancestors with your grandchildren. My ancestors seemed to come from Lardal. Hedrum and Tjolling and then Larvik and off to the world. If I can be of any help please contact me at ericj@adam.com.au and I will share what I have. I now have nearly 800 names and details on my database. Perhaps you can help with my more recent ancestors. My grandfathers family lived in Larvik. The 1900 census showed him at 18 Strand Gade. He came to Australia in 1913 but I been unable to trace the others - Anna b1882, Berthe b 1883, Hilda b 1885, Petra b 1890, Christian b 1893 (my g/f), Orense b 1895.Best wishes Jeff Erickson
