June 23rd is the date when they went to the church and said that they wanted to get married. Then it had to be announced in three sermons that these people wanted to get married, so that anyone who knew something against this marriage, for instance that the bride or the bridegroom was married or that they were too closely related, could tell the vicar about it. If nothing came up against the marriage, they could have the wedding. I don't know anything about Kari so far, but I will try to find out more from the churchbook.
