I have had the oportunity to look at the image Tor send me by mail, and I totaly agree with him. The image says A. Soholdt. Mvh. Rune T.

Rune;I added the link because it also is possible to do some online searces there; such as Illinois Death Idex and others http://www.chicagogenealogy.com/online.htmlNow we know he is noted as a 'US version' of Sjøholt; probably Soholt (there's a lot of them in US sources.I (and others too) have been searching for various spelling (and the possibility of misreading the images by ancestry.com)I doubt he changed onto Larsen/son or Lawson.Did he die befor 1900?However; where are the others??

Gjest Roger Thauland

What others in USA? fyi, the death index for Cook is complete as the source records allow, but i will look at the film of ALL dc's (alpha, 1871-1933) because a 'dc' was prepared in Cook when a burial permit was needed...for those who passed while 'out of town'; they are coded OT in the index. ..but, really, i have to look at all of them as coding mistakes happened. The birth fiche might also help, along with the city dirs. The lds fhc library will resume normal hours next week, perhaps i'll get there soon. Does the wife of Anders Larsen, Marg..Caroline have a sister: 'gertie'...born abt 1856? Was Ludvig(louis/lewis) born March 1, 1869? Roger.

Gjest Rune Thorstensen

Hi Roger.Acording to the link in nr.18, Ludvig Nicolai was born on the 5th of december 1869. Andreas and Ludvig are the only two members of the family I have found emigrated. I still don`t know if Andreas ever made it to Chicago. The only information I have regarding that, is his emigration. His son Ludvig Nicolai was going to New York. But at this point, that is all I know about their emigration. I will try to look into the question about Margrethe Caroline having any sisters.Rune

The Norwegian Emigrant Archive ia not a proof for emigration - only a registration to the Police telling a person was plaming to leave Norway. After Roger's entry # 23 we KNOW he arrived America.

Vell, if not found in ancestry...have some ice cream and try heritage...your Louis is alive and a widower..louis scholt.. in the 1920, age 50, calif, solano county, to usa in 1889, an electric groundsman, whatever that is! ..the local public service company, perhaps; this source did not finish the 1930 census...try ancestry in this location, i suggest. In the 1910 he is 40, single, whatcom county, washington state at bellingham, he is a servant seaman, 1887..likely info provided by someone else...like the office of the place he lived/employed. In the 1900, he is Louis Sohlt, 31, born dec 1869, a sailor, at astoria, in clatsop county, ore. So either Wa or Ca should have a 1910's marr record and either death/divorce record..i did not try family search. Still no Anders, Roger.

Gjest Rune Thorstensen

Thanks to Roger for the information about Ludvig/Louis Sohlt. According to the information he moved around a bit. In 1910 he is single, and in 1920 he is a widower. So he must have married between 1910 and 1920, not married for many years it seems.I hope it will be possible to find Andreas/Anders somewhere in the censuses. What about a 1890 census , is that available somewhere?Rune

Gjest Rune Thorstensen

Her kan ingenting utelukkes. Mvh. Rune T.
