Ingeborg Kindem Bratlie fra Voss døde i Oslo.Services for Mrs. Bratlie Monday. The Rev. P. M. Bratlie arrived in New York Monday with the body of his wife, who died during ; their vacation in Norway. The remains will arrive in Fergus Falls Wednesday on the noon train and funeral services will be held on Friday at the Bethlehem Lutheran church at 2 p. m.. the Rev. Otto Dale officiating. 15 Oct 1961.Death ended what had been planned as a happy vacation in her old home in Norway for Mrs. P. M. Bratlie. She had the joy of spending again a short time in her girlhood home at Voss, Norway, but she was not privileged to return to her home at 715 S Sheridan in this city, with her husband the Rev P M Bratlie. He had the sad duty of bringing her remains back home to Fergus Falls, for the fueralservice which will be held Friday Aug 18at 1:30 o’clock at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church with the Rev Otto Dale officiating. The Rev. and Mrs Bratlie had planned the Norway trip for some time, Early this spring, she fell on some steps and injured her hip and leg on the left side. A bloodclot formed, which physicians were unable to dissolve. She wished to make the trip anyhow, and on the sea voyage over, she seemed to be daily improving. But the last day or so before landing , she was not so well, and went to the hospital for 13 days. Then regaining some of her strength, her dream of going to her childhood home in Voss, was realized. After three weeks there, she returned to Oslo, and again entered the hospital where her death occurred on August 2. Ingeborg Kindem was born Oct 2, 1887 in Voss, Norway and in 1914 came to this country, locating in Minneapolis. Two years later, she entered the Deaconess Home and Hospital in Chicago, from which she was graduated as a nurse. On Jun 26,1929, she was married at Britton, South Dakota, to the Rev P. M. Bratlie. Eight years later, the Rev Bratlie was called to Milwaukee and Mondovi, Wis, where they resided until coming to Fergus Falls in 1949, to have charge of the Pioneer Memorial Home, of which he was superintendent.Mrs. Bratlie was a devout and sincere Christian woman, whose life of service will be remembered by a wide circle of loved ones and friends who are left to cherish her memory. She was a faithful member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and of the A.L.C.W. Surviving are her husband, three stepsons — Otto Bratlie, Moorhead; Arthur Bratlie, Morris; and Harold Bratlie, Shreveport, La.; four sislers and a brother living in Norway, and two brothers, Andrew and Bjorne Kindem of Minneapolis. Interment following the services at Bethlehem church will be in the church cemetery. The Glende-Johnson Chapel is in charge of arrangements. 17 Aug 1961Miss Cecelia Kindem, from Trondheim, Norway, arrived at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Bratlie May 8. She is sister of Mrs. Bratlie. This is the third time she is visiting the U. S. A. Twice she came as a tourist. This time she has come as an emigrant. In Norway she has been Superintendent and Head nurse of a large sanitarium near Trondheim for 22 years. She left Fergus Falls May 14, to visit a brother at Sandpoint, Idaho. She returned Sunday, June 1, to stay with the Bratlies for a month or more and then go to Minneapolis to visit another brother. 3 Jun 1957.
