The more I look into this, the more certain I become that we are on the right track, -and that we are related trough the ancestors of both Lars Olsen Sundbyeiet and Anne Christensdatter. We’re 8-10th cousins or something :)

 

I have been studying the sponsors on all occasions below, and “mapped” all the people and their families into a gedcom-file, checked against church records and the bygdebok. This gives a good overview of the families, and shows how the sponsors at the baptisms of Lars Olsen children in 1810 to 1815 are related to him and his wife, and most of the people I have found two-three generations back.

 

In the case of Lars Olsen Sundbyeiet the main problem is, and I agree with Karl Johnny, that we will not find the marriage that probably took place in Eidsvoll, and also that the “Eidsvoll-problem” appears in generations further back. Then we have to work on indications like I have done with the sponsors. It’s a puzzle that takes time.. I have not (yet) been able to place the below mentioned Lars Børgersen, but there are strong indications that the sponsors that seems to be relatives of Lars Olsen Sundbyeiet on his fathers side, all are connected through Jon Nilsen Nordbyvik b 1674, and are mostly his (Lars') 1st an 2nd cousins, and their spouses.

 

If you have a program that imports a ged-file, I will send the file to you so you can see it yourself. The report-tools in these programs (I’m using Reunion 9 for mac) give the overview that is hard to get when it involves so many people as it does in this case. As per now, there are 275 people in the file, of these are 121 with blood-relations to Lars Olsen Sundbyeiet, and 32 identified as sponsors as shown below, marked *.

I also agree with Karl Johnny that I made some too quick assumptions. I was also wrong about the Kirstine Larsdatter/Ole Larsen in the 1810-15 baptisms were Lars Olsens parents. I've later found that of chronological reasons they couldn’t be. My bad..! -I should have checked thoroughly before posting :/

Wonderful work, Heidi! It is slowly taking shape in my mind how the pieces fit together. So in this view, we also get an explanation for the name Christopher given to the elder brother of Ole Larsen, Skredder. It looks like he was named for his father's brother, Christopher born in 1772 or his father's half brother Christopher born in 1787. Does that seema likely explnation for that name which previously had defied explanation?

 

I began to look at later sponsors as well to see if we could draw any cross-generational links between the families. I note that at the baptism of Ole Larsen's eldest child August Leonard in 1840 in Oslo there was a sponsor named Ellen Dahl (the Dahl name appears frequently in Heidi's recent postings). Also there were two people named Haagensen (likely husband and wife) and I wonder if there was any connection to Haagen Tostensen (b.1754) Haggen seems to be a name especially popular in this area, or at least I have not seen it elsewhere. We did find some census records for someone who might be the Haagensen of Oslo, but I suspect there is some connection back to Nannestad. It now seems that the sponsor for Ole Larsen in 1815 and his siblings in 1810 and 1812 were mostly relatives and I suspect the same is the case for the baptism of August Leonard.

I have also noticed from the work of Heidi that Hans Olsen Flatner, the tailor who we once thought might be a brother to Lars Olsen Sundbyeiet, and who appears likely to be the tailor to whom Ole Larsen was apprenticed in Oslo in 1833, was in fact related to Lars Olsen Sundbyeiet, just not as a brother. Rather Hans Olsen Flatner seems to be the grandson of the brother of Lars Olsen's great grandmother. This could explain why the young Ole Larsen was apprenticed to somebody with the same name - it was not just a coincidence.
