Kristiansand – farslinjen til Andreas Larsen (Monsen) f. 30.07.1815.

Recommended Posts

Sigmund Steinsbø

Hei,

Fra en bekjent i USA har jeg fått spørsmålet om jeg kan hjelpe til med å finne farslinjen til denne karen;

http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?show=359&uid=64254&urnread_imagesize=gigant&hode=nei&ls=1&lc=x%259CK%25B42%25B2%25AA.%25B62%25B4R%25CAT%25B2.%25B62%25B1R%25B2453%25041%2581B%25C5J%25D6%2599V%25C6%25A6%2596%25D6%25B5%2500%25C9%25CE%2509%25F8

(Andre linje...)

Hans barnebarn har skrevet en fin historie til sin sønn mange år etterpå om hvordan det fortonet seg for en 6 åring å forlate Norge, for å reise til en helt ny verden. - Amerika;

Hans eldste sønn Andreas Munson døde omtrent 1895 i Kristiansand.

Thank you all, I am the American colleague. My other cousin has done much research but never found the marriage record for Lars and Anne Severine so I was wondering if Lars Mognsen could be the same as Lars Monsen but then there is a problem because Lars Monsen is still having children with his first wife at the time of the Mognsen marriage in Farsund

married in Farsund the 1st of August 1811?

http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=869&idx_id=869&uid=ny&idx_side=-151

Having children with Ingeborg Davidsdotter, Larsine and Martinius

My entry at geni has the details of my cousin's research

Lars Monsen (Ingeborg Davidsdatter) is not the same person as Lars Mognsen(Anne Severine Aanonsdatter)

Both were bachelors when they married.

So a bachelor cannot have a wife who died?

But we do not think Lars Mognsen is our Lars Monsen .... Could he be?

" Ungkarl/Ungkar" is a person that not have been married before.

Lars Mognsen was "ungkarl" when he got married.

And Lars Monsen was "ungkarl" when he got maried.

Just to let you know.. The Norwegian edition of 'Who do you think you are?' has just now been shown on TV, and after each episode, the Digital Archives usually get swamped, and it can be difficult to get through to the churchbooks and censuses.

Anne Sørine Ånensdatter who married to Lars Monsen 1811 in Farsund was from Huseby, Farsund.

1801 census: http://digitalarkive...&merk=3288#ovre

She is mentioned page 134 in the book Lista II.

Her parents married March 23 1787 in Lyngdal: http://www.arkivverk...ny&idx_side=-70

Ånen Stålesen's address in 1787 is Prestegaard, and the witnesses are also connested to the Prestegård (pastor's farm). Perhaps he was born 1756 on Ydestad in Kvås (Kvås book, page 179) and was a brother of Ingeborg Stålesdatter, a servant on Lyngdal Prestegård in 1801: http://digitalarkive...f01058341000014

The information about Anne Serene Ånensdatter in Geni is a mistake.

Lars Monsen (= Mogensen/Mognsen) was a matros (= sailor) from Bergen. The age given by death may be wrong, - and it might be right. If right, I think Geni has found the best candidate in Bergen, Lars Monsen, born oct 1782: http://digitalarkive...erk=144424#ovre

But I think the mother here has got wrong surname. She was a Pedersdatter. Both the parents died June 1794: http://digitalarkive...merk=52175#ovre

They were probably married 1772 in Haus parish: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=11480&idx_id=11480&uid=ny&idx_side=-82

Harald,

regarding Lars Monsen and where he was born, have you taken into account the information given below, (#39)..?

Kjeldeinformasjon: Vest-Agder fylke, Kristiansand, Ministerialbok nr. A 9 (1821-1827), Vigde 1824, side 253.

Permanent sidelenke: http://www.arkivverk...y&idx_side=-220

Permanent biletlenke: http://www.arkivverk...70607360266.jpg

Here is "enkemann" Lars Monsen remarried. Anne Serine passed away in 1822, so everything inidcates that this is the Lars Monsen we are looking for .

When married the second time, he stated he i born in Hamre Sogn, those days just north of Bergen, - NK (Nykirken) was inside the city limits of Bergen, - at Nordnes. He also stated his father was "huusmand"...

That was useful. Then it should be possible to find him.

Well since I put all that on geni, I can correct it once we have it all figured out.

So,the consensus here is that Lars Mognsen could have been later called Lars Monsen and that the Lars Monsen who was married to ingeborg Davidsdtr was a different person

Then there should be two Lars Monsens who die in Bergen? It was also pointed out to me that "

I found in the familysearch index that the other Lars was also called

Lars Monssen Suldahl

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/NWNS-D28"

My helper also says "Ane Serine died in 1822, and Lars Monsen remarried in 1823.

http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=9575&idx_id=9575&uid=ny&idx_side=-220

You may have problems with this, - text in Norwegian and with gothic handwriting. But it states that "widower and servant" Lars Monsen married Abel (?) Kirstine Christiandtr. The most instesting this is written in coloumb 4, 5 and 6; Coloumb 4 says where the groom comes from and it states "Eidsvaag in Hammer prestegjeld in Bergen Stift". This is a small place just north of Bergen and it fits the decription of grandfathers story. Age is 42 in coloumb 5 does not fully comply with the age that Linda Watne gave you, but he should not be ruled out completey because of a few years error. Coloumb 6 states the grooms fathers name, which is "huusmand" Mons Larsen."

Thanks to all of you.

If I can look anything up for any of you when I visit my son in NYC in late April let me know. I always spend a day or two going through the birth, death and marriage records down on Chambers st when I visit there.
