Rode 9-99 i Bergen

Recommended Posts

Patricia Carlsen Mikkelsen

In the baptism record for my bestefar, the residence is listed as "9-99" (11 Mai 1884, Domkirken). I have searched the 1885 census and the "rode-gatenavn" database, and I can not find this "rode" anywhere. Can anyone help me with this?

I would appreciate any assistance

I have found that rode 9-99 is Frimannssmuget 2A from searching in the Bergen map from 1888 on the web site

On the left you will find information about the people living in this house in different censuses from 1774 to 1928:

Takk Anne-Lise

This is the address I had written down. But I could not figure out where I got the information. We were just in Bergen last month. I found Frimannssmauet. It was such a tiny stretch of road. And the buildings were not numbered, except for #1 and #3. I believe the (#2) building does not exist anymore.

That link you provided shows my bestefar's baptism (August Andersen). I have two other addresses for this family:

At the time of their wedding in 1883-- my oldemor was at Knøsesmuget 38 and my oldefar was at Skottegaten 9

I expected to find this family in the 1885 census, but they are just not there.

Again, thanks!

Patti

I did not find them either, I wonder why they are not there...?

As shown they lived in Frimannssmuget 2A in 1884: http://digitalarkive...009&merk=190009

they lived in Foswinckelsgade 29 in 1887: http://digitalarkive...473&merk=204473

and when Torger died in 1889 he still lived in Fosvinckelsg. 29: http://digitalarkive...tnr=25499#nedre

The family must have been away that day, perhaps..?

Maybe the family had left Bergen for a few years? Census for 1885 is not available for every area.

In 1891 Malene still lived in Fosswinckelsgt.

I did not yet find death of Malene but maybe you already know?
