Frich- Learmund- Delange- Von Erpecom- Finlas family relationship

Hello,

I am trying to understand the family relationships I have pieced together between your forum and my own research on Ancestry.com. Unfortunately I don't speak Norweigan, however I have access to "Google Translate".  From what I could follow on the discussion of "the delogobe letters" I see Cathrine Learmund ( daughter of Willum Learmund and Karen Robertsdatter) marries Jacob Davidsen Frich. From the baptism records I see familys: Delange, Learmund, Frich, Finas, and Von Erpecoms occur frequently together. Ancestry.com shows a marriage in 1728 between William Learmonth and Catherine Delange. I am uncertain if this is the William from Edinburgh of perhaps his son?  My research has gotten a bit confused . I would appreciate any guidance.  I discovered I am  a descendent of the Frich family line-  surname Jobsen.  Thank you for the access to your forum. It has been very informative.

Kind Regards,

Andrea

When looking at the baptism certificates from the Frich family, I often see members of  the Van Erpecom, De Lange , and Learmund families appear as sponsors. It was my understanding that the sponsors at a baptism are often family members. There was a marriage between Cathrine Learmund and Jacob Davisdon Frich which would explain the Learmund family name as sponsors. I was wondering what the relationship between the Frich family and the other family surnames- such as the DeLange family and the Van Erpecom family.

Best,

Andrea

Catharina Willumsdatter Leermouth born 5th jan. 1673, buried 1st jun. 1746 married 9th mar. 1710 with skipper Jacob Davidsen Frich c1680 - buried 23th mar. 1733.

His only son David 1711-1801 married 1737 to Anna Margrethe de Rytter had several sons, one of them was Job  1748-1824 who married Pauline Cathrine Meyer. Job also had a child Job with Sophia Hedevig Hockersen. Can be seen in the churchbook of Askøy below.

One of the sons with children, Paul Meyer Frich 1788-1836 married Chatarina Sommer. Two known children, Waldemar 1827-1875 married to Marie Phaff and Marie 1833- married to J. Albert Overgaard.

The other son Job Jobsen Frich 1786-1867 (mother Sophia Hedevig Hockersen) born in Askøy http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=8601&idx_id=8601&uid=ny&idx_side=-171 married Karen Marie Svensdatter 1795-bef.1822 in Arendal and 2) in 1825 to Maren Christine Mengsel.

These are the only two Job Frich I knew.

My mistake must begin with the other son Job Jobsen Frich, Eventually I show him related to my 2nd grandfather Nils Jobsen. Nils Jobsen (Jan 3 1847- Jan 24 1898) and his wife Kaja Helene Johnsen (1861- 1894 NYC) are confirmed by oral family history. I will check all the sources and re- work the family tree from that point and see where the journey leads me.

Thank you,

Andrea

Hallo again Andrea.

Because my grandmother was a Frich I have great interest in the family and put out a thread in DIS No on Niels Jobsen.  There you can see much interesting stuff http://www.disnorge.no/slektsforum/viewtopic.php?p=659471#659471

I can add another son to Job Jobsen Frich.  Johan Peder Jobsen is born in 1827 married to Maren Halvorsen and had a son Fredrik Anton Jobsen in 1879 http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=6161&idx_id=6161&uid=ny&idx_side=-16 . May be also a son Johan born in 1874.
