Lene Benedicte Lauritzen Skrevet Januar 6, 2016 Del Skrevet Januar 6, 2016 Hello Walter It's difficult to give an exact answer to your question without seeing the whole page. Please add a link to the pages, so that we can compare difficult letters to other words. Gro Hjelle Skrevet Januar 6, 2016 Del Skrevet Januar 6, 2016 Hello. These two pages are to be read from left to the right. Left side, where the peron signed on the ship.,to the right where he signed off. and the total amount of time spent on the ship. 13/7-45. He signed on m/s Tampa as a "deckboy" ( lowest grade!) in Oslo. signed off on the right page:10/1-46.In Larvik . total. 5.-28. (5 months- 28 days.) 11/1-46- signs on the same ship as a "youngman" ( 1 grade above deckboy) signs off in Lisboa 14/8-46.7-04 ( months/days)marked: sailed as lettmatros( ordinary seaman) from 30/6-46. Lettmatros means-ordinary seaman. Matros means. seaman. ( ab.) This is his seaman`s book where everything concerning his time spent on ships, his position onboard and so on would be written down. The book was the most valuable paper the sailors had onboard,by the way! At the end of the page is written."6/9-46. lettmatros on m/s Strosa ??( not sure about the writing here) from Sweden. sailed as apprentice from English ship. Signs off in Hernøsand (Sweden) 12/10-46. Total time. 1-7 ( 1 month 7 days) Total 1947-48. 10 months. 11 days. All the places he has signed off is written on the right hand side.He has signed off i Suez, amongst at least 2 places wich I cannot read. It is easier to understand if you place the two pages side by side.Read the lines from the left page to the right page, then you will be able to "see" it as a whole. Signing on, name of ship, where he signed on, signing off, where and how much time spent onboard, or in the position he had onboard. Hope this helps? Anne-Lise Hansen Skrevet Januar 9, 2016 Del Skrevet Januar 9, 2016 (endret) Bitte schön. Ich verwechselte A und H, so ich denke du hast die Shiffennahmen recht interpretiert.
