Anne Cecilie (both names spelled various ways) Pedersdatter is the wife of Jens Jensen Rostad (born 1829) Vår Frue https://www.digitalarkivet.no/kb20050613021128 (#40). Here it says Ane Cecilie is from Brennesvald. She died in 1909 https://www.digitalarkivet.no/kb20050412010244 (#1) and here it says she was born in Værdalen. So I am wonder if the link at the top of the page is a record of her birth.

Merle, are you aware that this link is not from a churchbook in Værdal, but Vardal that is located in Oppland.

 

It is not the first time that Verdal/Værdal has been mixed up with Vardal in Oppland fylke.

No, I was not aware. So how to I find Værdal church book?

I could not find her birth in Værdal in th 1885 census for Trondheim, she is listed as born in LevangerSkogn.

I woul have looked in the LevangerSkogn churchbooks, as I have not found her birth in Værdal.

Yes, I had asked about her earlier regarding the marriage record, but that did not lead me to the right place. I had seen the census record but did not know how Levanger, Skogn, and Brennesvald were associated. Now I know. Tusen takk.

 

Thanks very much for your help. 

 

Women in this area are so hard to find because so little information is recorded. The ministers in the Møre og Romsdal region, where I was researching my mother's parents,  were much more meticulous regarding giving birthdates and birth places for the women. So I am very thankful for the help I get for this region.
