I don't know if this is my Jens Jørgensen. Either there were several men or he changed farms every two years!

Is there a death date?

He was survived by a daughter Anna. Is there any indication of her age or status? A guardian for her?

My person did have a brother in law named Jens Eliassen Svinøen, who is named here.

May or may not be the same person as Jens Jørgensen Svinøen. I see Svinøen mentioned in the tallies - is this a debt that may indicate a previous residence there?

Again hoping for too much.

He is called "Jens Jørgensen Indre Onøen"

I do not see any death date.  The registration and evaluation of the estate was made 18 Jun 1787. Thus any time before that day.

 

Jens was "Enkemd." ('enkemand', widower)

The only heir was the daughter Anna.

I think her age is added between the lines, just after her name. The photograph is not clear and it is hard to read.  It might be "6 aar gl".

The court appointed as guardian for her Lars Hansen Silen. The guardianship also included Anna's inheritage after her mother.

A stepson Lars Olsen had also inheritage after his mother in the estate. This means that Jens had been guardian for Anna and Lars.

(The maternal inheritance of Lars and Anna was subtracted from the estate.)

Abel Olsen Onøen was appointed as guardian for Lars.

No family relation is mentioned for Lars Hansen or Abel Olsen.  (They might be relatives. According to law, close relatives should

be guardians - if able and available.)

 

Jens Eliassen Svinøen is mentioned as one of a number of creditors (claimed 1-4-0).

Many thanks again Ivar. I could not read anything about Lars Olsen. So he would be under - 21? 18?
