My GGRmother was Thea Mathilde Trosterud, my GGF was Karl August Trosterud.  They immigrated to Canada and I have all the info about them.

I have tried to search locations suggested:  AASEN, DIISEN, however I don't know if these are houses, streets, towns, villages.  I don't know how to search these locations.

Thank you so very much for the photos of the farm.  Was it the "haze" farm or other photo?  Is Disen a town or village or the farm name?

Disen and Aasen was farm names previously in Aker municipality, Akershus amt/fylke. Gradually Aker was incorporated in the expanding city of Oslo. Now the names describe just some parts of the city,

So far I have not found a good candidate for Niels Nielsen, There were no likely candidates that jumped out at me in the 1801 Norwegian Census for Aker, Akershus, Norway. 

 

For his wife Aagot or Aagaath Andersdatter the only good candidate is the one from the 1801 Census with parents Anders Evensen and Kari Hansdatter living at the farm Dison. You are far enough back in time that finding information on the parents and their parents is going to be difficult and sparse. 

 

Here is a link to a family tree on Family Search. Family Search is useful and free. You need to sign up for it but it is free to use.  As with any online tree there is the potential for errors to creep in. 

 

One error I noticed right away is they have a man named Henrik for the husband of Aagot Andersdatter. They have her named Aagoth but it is basically the same name.

 

But they do have several ancestors and siblings that are woth exploring.

The record places the marriage in Oslo but the original record is from the Aker Parish.

Diisenejer. The suffix -ejer tells us that this is a small holding under Disen farm.

That was proven by the probate card.

 

Found a ‘skiftekort’ (registercard for probates) concerning this family in 1812, about three years after Anders Evensen died. They’ve got his late wife’s name wrong, though.

 

The fifth child, Aagot, married to Nils Traasterud.
