Clark, you wanted to find about Evine's ultimate fate.  So far I have looked but haven't found with certainty.  Since you have done some research on your Norway relatives have you ever run across anyone with the surname Stensby?  If so, this might be about her.  If one of the Norwegians on forum have access we might find if this interpretation holds up.  Here is what I can read, its the OCR the best I have since I don't have the right IP address to have direct access:

Roughly translating the OCR says "Our dear relative Evine Elseth died _____ 77 years old.  Tangen 6 Dec 1950  Anna and Per Stensby."  If there is some scrambling of the letters in the OCR or an old fashioned typo in the original newspaper, the age of this person is a pretty close match to Evine Kristoffersdatter's age in 1950.

Hello Jackie,

Thanks so much!  Yes, Evine had an aunt (her father's sister) who was married to a Stensby.  One of her sons came to the USA and his name was Marius Stensby.  So this is definitely her relative and the correct Evine.  That's fantastic!  Great work!!
