Frank (Frantz Teodor) Schele - born April 14, 1876 in Fredrikstad, Norway - enlisted May 15, 1918 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada - Immigrated in 1920 to New York. Resided in Chicago. Died March 18, 1936. Parents were from Sweden.


Oscar Anthony (Anton) Olsen - born September 2, 1886 in Fredrikstad (Borge), Norway - Resided: Three Rivers, Quebec, Canada - Enlisted August 30, 1916 in Montreal


Abraham (Kornelius) (Johannesen) Norin - born November 27, 1895 in Kragero (Residence: Langongen, Edonger, Norway) - Resided Chatham, New Brunswick, Canada - Enlisted March 26, 1917 in Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada - Sent part of his pay to Barbara Whalen in Chatham, New Brunswick -  Died September 15, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York.


Georg Pettersen - born January 24, 1898 in Kristiania, Norway - Resided Kristiania - Enlisted April 8, 1917 in Newcastle, New Brunswick, Canada. Died on May 21, 1917 of Tuberculosis. Next of kin: Gustav Pettersen - 10 Tabakaden, Kristiania. Buried in Kristiania


Alfred (Martin) Olsen - born November 1, 1886 in Bergen, Norway - Resided Liverpool, England - Enlisted July 22, 1916 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada


Emil (August Julius) Ramm - born July 8, 1888 in Fredrikstad, Norway - Resided Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada - Enlisted April 8, 1916 in Saint John, New Brunswick - Served in England, France, Egypt, and Palestine - Diagnosed with Malaria -  Died November 1, 1919 - Buried Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. There is a connection to Germany. Perhaps he resided there. ---- File state that Emil sent part of his pay to Anna Shuve in Saint John, New Brunswick. Later files shows he sent money to John Shuve who was a guardian. John Shuve was born in Norway. Anna Shuve was born in 1914 in Saint John. She died in 1932. It is possible that Anna was Emil Ramm's daughter.


Adolph Schioldrop - born September 23, 1896 in Bergen, Norway - Resided Newcastle, New Brunswick, Canada - Enlisted September 25, 1916 in Newcastle, New Brunswick, Canada


Jorgen Nilsen - born April 11, 1891 in Bergen, Norway - Enlisted November 15, 1914 - Enlisted November 20, 1915 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Immigrated from Sweden in 1919 to USA. He was a sailor, but might have immigrated to Canada.


Gustav Albert Jensen - born December 10, 1896 in Ostre Aker, Norway - Enlisted November 17, 1916 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada - . KILLED IN ACTION November 1, 1917


Bjorn Ursin Smith - born April 19, 1900 in Stavanger, Norway - Resided Harstad, Troms, Norway - Resided: Y.M.C.A Toronto - Enlisted October 30, 1916 in Quebec, Canada -


Emil Olsen - born 1889 in Stavanger, Norway - Resided Lunenburg. Nova Scotia, Canada - Enlisted September 27, 1914 in Valcartier, Quebec, Canada - Shrapnel wound on right calf.


(Sønnik) Georg Neilsen - born August 20, 1895 in Arendal, Norway (born Barbu, Aust-Agder) - Resided Newcastle, New Brunswick, Canada - Enlisted September 20, 1916 in Newcastle, New Brunswick - Deserted on October 31, 1916 - In 1917 or 1918, he was working in New York and was drafted for World War One Services (no more details known) - In a hospital in Norway in 1920 with Tuberculosis.


Earl (Erling Joseph) Sorensen - born November 12, 1895 in Tromso, Norway - Enlisted October 25, 1916 in Newcastle, New Brunswick, Canada - Resided Nelson, New Brunswick, Canada - He sent part of his pay to Elizabeth English in Nelson, New Brunswick - Erling immigrated to USA, resided in Seattle, Washington, USA.

There could be others. These are the ones who gave their occupation as sailor or seaman.

 

There were 475 people born in Norway enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force- World War One. The vast majority of them were residents of Western Canada (Immigrants)

I don't want to keep this active, but it is necessary to point out a false name.

 

Frank Tryger is a false name. The man's true name is Trygve Godager. He was born in Trondheim.

 

There could be other false names.
