What is the translation of "royert" (slash through the o) as a Yrke in the 1801 census?

Røyert = a person who rowed a boat, a rower. In modern Norwegian he is called "rorskar" or "tollrorskar", the latter rowed a boat for the Customs. Goods to declare usually came by ship in the old days.
