Great news. Johan Oskar Backelin died in Strömstad, so I'm not quite sure if he ever went back to the US, or maybe his wife died there and then he returned back home. He was married twice, and also had some kids in his sec. marriage. One of his daughters, the one born in 1920 is still alive!! I wonder what she knows about all this.
