Ole Christenson Berge i Luster (1823-1910), òg kalla «Post-Ola», utvandra til Amerika i 1862 med kona Kari Pedersdotter (1826-1885).  Dei slo seg ned som farmarar i Ridgeway township, Iowa Co., Wis. og skreiv seg med ættenamnet POAST - sidan forenkla til POST.  Dødsdatoen til Ole Poast var 2.4.1910, og kanskje finst det ein obituary etter han?

 

I dette emnet tek eg først for meg nesteldste sonen i denne huslyden, Peder alias Peter O. POST, som flytte til Lyon Co., MN, gifte seg og fekk ti born.  Eg har freista plukka ut frå ancestry og familysearch det eg kan finna av opplysningar om Peter og kona og dei ti borni med ektemakar, men no møter eg «veggen».  Eg kjem ikkje lenger, og eg vonar no at nokon kan hjelpa meg finna obituaries eller andre kjelder som kan bidra med biografiske opplysningar?

"COTTONWOOD - Services for Ruth Mae Post, 90, of Cottonwood, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church in Cottonwood with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family.

She died Friday, May 20, 2016, at the Parkview Home in Belview.

Ruth Mae (Buysse) Post was born March 31, 1926, to Henry and Jesse (Harbo) Buysse in Lucan. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. She lived in Green Valley for a short time before moving to Cottonwood in 1936 where she attended and graduated from Cottonwood High School.

On June 30, 1946, Ruth was united in marriage to Earl Post in Cottonwood, where they made their home and were lifelong residents. Ruth worked for 25 years at the Empire State Bank of Cottonwood. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Cottonwood and was involved with the Ladies Auxillary.

Ruth's life revolved around family, she loved spending time with them. In her younger years, Ruth enjoyed baking and cooking. She also liked to watch Minnesota sports, and loved college basketball, especially Duke and the Big 10 Conference.

Survivors include her children, David (Mavis) Post of Eagan, and Craig Post of Cottonwood; five grandchildren, Wiley (Crista) Post, Chastity (Aaron) Kuehn, Jennifer (Steve) Weestrand, Ryan Post, and Colby (Danielle) Post; 12 great- grandchildren: Tanisha, Taneka, Cameron, Dominic, Brady, Emma, Kyler, Jayla, Ava, Colton, Tucker, and Paige; one sister, Janet Lindsay; and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Post, her parents, two brothers, Marvin and Bruce Buysse, and one sister, Jean Chandler.

Blessed be her memory.".

Hjarteleg takk til Grethe, Sven og Lars J. for kjempefine innlegg om denne huslyden!  Særleg vart eg imponert over oppdagingi av Erick Olsen i Superior, WI.  Og med dei opplysningane i minne, burde det vel vera mogeleg å finna ut meir om Erick og huslyden hans.  Eit raskt søk i kjelder frå St. Louis Co., MN og Douglas Co., WI har vore utan resultat, men dette skilsmålet, som vel har finne stad kort før dødsfallet i 1908, bør vel ha vore nemnt i lokale kjelder (aviser)?
