FYI, There is an error in Hjelmeland Bygdebok regarding Assheim 5. Torbjørn Pederson. He was NOT a son of Peder Tormodsen Foss as mentioned. There are two probate records after Peder Foss. Torbjørn Pederson Assem is mentioned i both, but NOT as a son, but as a Skiftesmand, or witness.
Torbjørn Pederson Assheim was the son of Peder Torbjørnson Knutsvik, (Norda/North) and a unknown wife (migt be dougther of a Ole, since they had two sons named Ole). Knudsvik is a neibour farm to Assheim and Foss.
Peder Torbjørnson Knutsvik lived from ca. 1585 to 1650. His father Torbjørn Knutsvig lived from ca, 1555 to ca. 1615. His fathers name again is unknown.
His mothers name was Birgit, she was borned, raised and died ar Knutsvik died ca, 1630 or later.
And yes, Peder Torbjørnson and Anna Gudmundsdr. had a daughter Siri Pedersdtr. (1698-1766)
She lived at another Neibour farm Nesvik, and was ca. 1719 married to Ola Pedersson Nesvig, born 1700 at the Foss farm.
Ole Pederson ran away in early 1750, with his own son-inlaws half sister Ragnhild Torbjørnsdtr. Skiftun (ca. 1719-Unknown year/place)
The two had fostered two illegal Children while Ola was a married man. He must have escaped his trial witch would result in him mising all his property/money (He was a rich man) There are countless court documents about them during the 1750s, they was higly wanted, and had a death sentence.
There was a probate record after Ola Pederson in 1758, he was not declared dead, but was still "bortømt", a run-away.
In 1762 his wife Siri Nesvig was said to be a widow.
